Heaven’s Plea

My friend Michelle Kaye is a beautiful musician and composer.  She recently gifted me with one of the pieces of music she created called Heaven’s Plea.  This piece of music was created during the time she was living and healing from cancer.

I asked her if I could paint her something while listening to her music and she agreed.  This is the result.

What is Soul? Part 1

1-you-are-here-rebecca-schweiger
art by Rebecca Schweiger

In wanting to understand my self and the purpose of Soul in my life I asked Soul some questions.

What is Soul?

The essence of self.

Of course, I had to look up the words essence and self.  Here is what I discovered.

Essence according to Webster’s Dictionary is:

Function: noun

1 : the basic nature of a thing : the quality or qualities that make a thing what it is <the essence of love is unselfishness>

Self according to Wikipedia is:

The self is the subject of one’s own experience of phenomena: perception, emotions, thoughts. In phenomenology, it is conceived as what experiences, and there isn’t any experiencing without an experiencer, the self. The self is therefore an “immediate given”, an intrinsic dimension of the fact of experiencing phenomena. In some other trends of philosophy, the self is instead seen as requiring a reflexive perception of oneself, the individual person, meaning the self in such a view is an object of consciousness.

So, then, Soul is that quality that makes me, my self, who and what I am?

Correct.

If Soul if the very nature of Me why do I often feel so disconnected from Soul?

It is impossible to be disconnected from Soul.

I beg to differ.  I have felt lost these past few days, without any guidance from Soul.

We have been here the whole time.  Your fear muted our voice.

Why are you using the plural here?

Soul is not unique in the context of individuality.  Soul is All One.  Soul is connected to All That Is and All That Is is Everywhere and Everything.

Your getting a little woo woo for me here.  No wonder I press the mute button.

If you only knew and could feel that you are never alone and We are All One you would never be afraid again.

I’ve heard all this before . . .

Yet, you have never embraced it.  Why is that?

Because I’m afraid I will lose my individuality.  I’m afraid I will no longer be me.  I’m afraid I’ll never be the same again.

What has sameness gotten you?

Not very far.  That’s for damn sure.  I feel stuck in fear.

How do you recommend I embrace this concept?

A concept is a construct of the mind.  Allow your heart to feel.

I’m so afraid.

Breathe.

Breathe?

Yes.  We’ll keep it simple.  When ever you are afraid, breathe.

I can do that.

Yet, you don’t.

That’s true.  I know the power of the breath yet I continually hold it.  I’m afraid of change and I know that breathing deeply is about trust.  I have to allow and trust to really bring the breath deep into my body.

Yes.  For the next few days focus on your breath.  When ever you are afraid breathe deeply.  Notice how your life changes.

o.k., I’m willing to experiment here.  Can We continue this conversation in the future.

Of course!  We are always here.

A Conversation With Soul: A Diamond Being Forged

6a00d834a308ee69e201a3fcb44769970bI asked my IGS (Internal Guidance System) or Soul Self this morning why I was continuing to experience extreme physical symptoms.  It seems that just when I have one symptom cleared another pops up.  Here is the message I was given today.

Your physical symptoms are in direct response to your evolution in consciousness.  The more “emotional baggage” you release the lighter the body becomes.  You literally open the body to receive more light.  That can be a painful process as the body carries so much density.

Imagine you are looking directly into the sun.  When you do so the light hurts your eyes.  You are taught to believe that light is all rainbows and fairy tales.  Light is strength.  Just like the diamond is the strongest element on Earth you are formed in the same way.  A diamond is created under extreme pressure and heat.  Do you see what we mean now?

Trust your body to know what it is doing.  As long as you continue to listen to your body and take care of its needs it will support you.  Let go of the idea that the body is betraying you.  It is evolving along with your consciousness.  Be patient as the physical journey to consciousness is more challenging than the rest.

Soul Colors Portrait: Creative Spirit

painting by Della McGee
painting by Della McGee

You will notice two symbols within your painting.  One is the cross and the other the spiral.  The cross is letting you know that you are at a cross roads in your life right now.  You are done being a child and it is time to step into your power as woman.  The spiral represents the path to power.  How you find your personal power is by going into the center of your being and listening to your intuition.  The flower in this painting is your intuition.  It is blooming, letting you know that it is always “open” for you.

You have a lot of creative energy that desires to be expressed.  You have many different outlets to choose from whether that be the arts, music or gardening.  Creative expression will always be a healthy outlet for you if you allow it to be so.  Write, paint, act or simply howl at the moon.  Let that creativity be your guide to a balanced life.

Gentle Spirit

Sumya
painting by Della McGee

Gentle Spirit your soul calls your name.  Gentleness is your strength.  Sweetness, joy.  Love and Compassion are your hallmarks.  Peace is your breath.  Look deeply into your soul and call forth your deepest longings.  The truth is within you.  Look into your eyes and “see” your authentic being.  Remember this:  no one can tell you who you are.  You are the architect of your life.  Through love and compassion you will be guided.  Fear will block you if you give it power.  Remember, to find your way . . . breathe.

A Conversation with Soul: The Nature of Existence

og3123201505152106318Soul:  Ask me a question?

Self:  I’m afraid you’ll answer.

Soul:  I always have your back.

Self:  Why is there so much fear in the world?

Soul:  Because you don’t understand the nature of existence.

Self:  Which is?

Soul:  Love.

Self:  How do I love?

Soul:  Be still a moment and listen to your breath.  What do you hear?

Self:  My heartbeat.

Soul:  Now listen to your breath and your heartbeat.  Take a few moments to do this.  What do you feel?

Self:  Relaxed.

Soul:  That is love.

Self:  Huh?  How can relaxation be love?

Soul:  Because fear is tension and the opposite of tension is relaxation which is love.

Self:  That sounds too simple.

Soul:  You have just discovered the root of fear. . . Your thoughts.  So to bring more love into your life relax a little more, breathe and listen to the beat of your heart.  Yes, it is that simple.

Queen Of The Fairies

Scan 24
painting by Della McGee

When you look at yourself in the mirror what do you see?  Do you see your majesty?  Do you see your grace?  Do you see your power?  Do you see a leader?  These are all qualities you have dwelling within you.  You can see the image in your portrait has her wings spread wide open.  She does this to embrace all of life.  You may notice that even though she is feminine she also has masculine qualities as well.  You will need this balance of masculine (active) and feminine (receptive) to fully step into your power.  Do not be afraid to be assertive with your dreams.  The queen’s face has an expression that could be misconstrued as aggression.  Sometime we need to “put on our game face” to push ourselves to our destiny.  If only to convince ourselves that we have the strength to carry on.

How I Became a Psychic: Part 3

Holy ManRead Part 1 Here

Read Part 2 Here

I had started working with my psychic friend Cheryl.  She had monthly circles where people would come together and explore and grow their budding intuitive gifts.  I remember speaking in tongues during one of our sessions and she suggested that I tune into the language to find out if there was more going on than just speaking a strange language.

I did this by taking long walks in the woods by my apartment building.  Nature has always had a calming effect on me and being surrounded by trees was an easy way for me to meditate and go within.  During these nature sessions I would  begin to see images of an old Native American Holy Man in my minds eye.  I started to sense that he was my Spirit Guide and the strange language was coming from him.  After several attempts of trying out different names to call him “Grandfather” resonated deep within me.  It was the name that felt right.

After connecting with his name I began to have conversations asking about our relationship.  He told me that we had several past lives together and that this lifetime he came to help me become who I truly am.  It took a long time before I could fully understand and interpret what he was saying.  He began by sending me images that the words reflected.  From there I was able to interpret the spirit language into messages for myself and others.

My Spirit Guide Grandfather has helped me during my healing sessions with clients for many years now.  He will often give insight into a situation that I am unable to see clearly.  I have come full circle with the work that began with Cheryl B. many years ago.  I now have psychic circles to help others explore their gifts.  You can find more about these circles here.

I have enjoyed sharing my story with you as it has reminded me of the incredible journey I have been on.  Please feel free to connect with me if you would like your own session with Grandfather.  We would be happy to help you in becoming who you truly are.  You can find me here.

Here is an example of me channeling my Spirit Guide Grandfather.  Enjoy!

Soul Portrait: Creative Spirit

Shannon A. McGeeI painted this portrait for my niece for her high school graduation present.  The painting came easy yet I was unable to complete a reading for her.  I came to understand that she was to find meaning within the portrait for herself.  I do know it is about her creative journey.  She is an incredible artist and singer.  I can not wait to watch her journey unfold . . .
